Our client is a growing and highly respected engineering consultancy delivering civil and infrastructure design solutions across a diverse range of commercial, industrial, residential and development projects throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Junior CAD Technician to join their expanding Civil Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician with 1-2 years' industry experience who is looking to develop their technical skills and build a long-term career within a supportive consultancy environment.

The Role

Working alongside experienced Civil Engineers and Technicians, you will assist in the preparation and development of engineering drawings and models for a variety of infrastructure projects. Typical schemes include highways, drainage, earthworks and site development works from concept through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing engineering drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Assisting with the development of highways, drainage and infrastructure layouts
  • Preparing site plans, levels, sections and construction details
  • Supporting engineers with design coordination and drawing production
  • Ensuring drawings are delivered in accordance with project requirements and company standards
  • Liaising with internal design teams to support project delivery
  • Contributing to the continual improvement of CAD standards and procedures

Requirements

  • 1-2 years' experience in a CAD Technician role within a civil engineering, infrastructure or consultancy environment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience using Civil 3D
  • Understanding of civil engineering projects including highways, drainage or site development works
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, CAD, Construction or a related discipline would be advantageous
