A well-established multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Sustainability Consultant to join its Cardiff-based team, with a hybrid working arrangement and flexibility on the number of days in the office. The consultancy provides sustainability services including BREEAM, net-zero, ESG and whole life carbon assessments, working with clients across a broad range of sectors from early design stages through to completion.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering sustainability assessments and advice across a varied project portfolio. Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out BREEAM assessments and supporting projects through certification
  • Contributing to net-zero, ESG and whole life carbon assessments
  • Producing sustainability strategies, reports and technical documentation
  • Advising clients and design teams on sustainable design principles and regulatory compliance
  • Liaising with architects, engineers and other members of the design team
  • Keeping up to date with sustainability legislation, standards and industry best practice
  • Supporting business development and client relationships

About You

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as Sustainability, Environmental Science, Building Services or a related discipline
  • A qualified BREEAM Assessor is ideal; BREEAM AP status would also be well regarded
  • Experience working within a sustainability, environmental or building services consultancy
  • Good understanding of sustainable design principles and relevant UK regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and work well as part of a team
