My client is seeking an OCDEA / SAP Assessor to join their growing energy-assessment team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of residential energy modelling, Part L Building Regulations, and low-carbon design principles.
Key responsibilities:
- Produce accurate and compliant SAP assessments and EPCs for new-build residential projects.
- Model energy performance using approved SAP software and ensure all calculations meet current Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Review specifications and construction details to identify compliance risks and optimisation opportunities.
- Advise design teams, developers, and contractors on energy-efficiency measures, fabric improvements, renewable technologies and low-carbon strategies.
- Prepare and submit SAP reports, compliance summaries and associated documentation.
- Liaise with clients, internal teams, building control and other stakeholders to ensure smooth progression of assessments from concept to completion.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy, record-keeping and quality assurance across all assessments.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in Part L, SAP methodologies, emerging energy standards and relevant legislation.
What we're looking for:
- Qualified OCDEA (On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor) with up-to-date accreditation.
- Demonstrable experience completing SAP assessments for new-build residential schemes.
- Strong understanding of Building Regulations and UK energy-efficiency standards.
- Proficiency with recognised SAP software.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong numeracy/analytical skills.
- Clear communication skills and confidence working directly with clients and project teams.
- Self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing workload independently in a remote environment.
