A leading planning, sustainability, and ESG consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Director to play a key role in expanding their energy modelling and sustainability strategy offering. This opportunity is open not only to those already operating at Associate Director level, but also to experienced Associates or Principals ready to step up into a more senior, strategic position.
The Role
- Leading projects and developing energy strategies supported by detailed modelling
- Assessing existing building portfolios to support transition to net zero carbon
- Managing project delivery, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget
- Producing high-quality technical reports and fee proposals
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Contributing to business development and identifying new opportunities
- Supporting the delivery of BREEAM-related evidence and assessments
Technical Expertise
- Energy strategy development and decarbonisation roadmaps
- SBEM and Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM)
- TM54 operational energy modelling
- Overheating and thermal comfort analysis
- Daylight and overshadowing assessments
- Strong understanding of UK planning policy (e.g. London Plan, regional frameworks)
- Advanced use of Excel, including development of complex models
Desirable Experience
- Techno-economic analysis
- Corporate sustainability frameworks (e.g. GRESB, SBTi, CRREM, MEES)
- Whole life carbon modelling
- Knowledge of renewable and smart energy systems
- EPC accreditation
- VBA or advanced data analysis skills

- Commercial awareness and experience in business development
- Excellent communication and client engagement skills
- Ability to step into (or already operate at) a senior leadership level
