The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

The purpose of this position is to support the tax team in all compliance and general administrative tax guidance (for indirect tax) on Aztec UK clients’ portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like to be part of a great team atmosphere and is committed to delivering high quality work under tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review the preparation of UK VAT tax returns, the calculation of tax provisions and the review of tax assessments
  • Respond to queries on indirect tax matters relating to VAT annual returns, VAT periodical returns, VAT assessments, VAT provisions
  • Maintain appropriate records and the follow up on all filing deadlines related to UK taxation for clients\’ companies
  • Be the contact person for the UK tax authorities
  • Be a key contact person for international group entities regarding UK tax related queries (calls, meetings)
  • Be a key contact person with outside tax advisors
  • Coordinate between clients and other service providers
  • Be part of ad hoc projects
  • Involvement in all local UK tax matters while supporting the wider tax team, the Head of Tax and the Business Development team in proposing for new tax services opportunities in the UK
  • Line manage, coach and support the training needs of the tax team in the UK
  • Provide training and support to the client facing teams

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

  • At least 4 to 5 years of previous experience preparing and reviewing VAT tax returns for UK companies and partnerships. (big 4 experience is an advantage).
  • A relevant Tax-related qualification such as Chartered Tax Advisor
  • A relevant Accounting qualification such as ACA or ACCA is desirable
  • Experience with property/infrastructure clients and related returns (e.g. CIS filings) is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively with diverse client teams
  • Attention to detail to ensure the delivery of consistent and high standards
  • Excellent organisational and people skills
  • A commitment and desire to deliver high-levels of client service
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, work under pressure and within tight deadlines
