About the role:

Reports to Financial Reporting Manager. As part of our Fund of Funds team, this highly numerical position will see the candidate take an active role in the day-to-day administration of a large number of fund structures for one of the Group’s largest institutional clients, under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager. As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for developing your expertise, building meaningful relationships and taking ownership for outcomes. This will be achieved through growing subject matter expertise, contributing to process improvements and offering insights based on experience. You will support business and people growth, contributing towards team initiatives and mentoring newer team members, to enable Aztec's future ambitions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Administer a variety of private equity, real estate and fund of fund structures and liaise with clients and intermediaries as necessary
  • Process and co-ordinate routine and complex fund operations including the production of calls and distribution notices to investors
  • Ensure accurate investor records are maintained and process all investor changes / transfers thereon
  • Maintain accurate records on eFront for all aspects of accounting
  • Produce / review monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc investor reporting including monthly unit holdings, monthly cash flow reporting, quarterly NAV packs, quarterly management accounts, quarterly investor capital accounts and quarterly investor fact sheets / reporting
  • Involved in the planning for and production of annual audited financial statements and liaise with auditors throughout the audit process
  • Monitor the client inbox on a daily basis to ensure that all deliverables and service level agreements requirements are being met
  • Build strong working relationships with the team and the client as well as other internal and external stakeholders
  • Dealing with ad-hoc investor queries
  • Act as a mentor to junior staff and be responsible for their development and review of their work where applicable, under the supervision of senior staff

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

  • The candidate will be expected to be part qualified with a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Professional level or ACA Advanced level)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience within a financial services setting
  • Prior fund accounting experience would be highly advantageous
  • Sound technical financial services knowledge (to be supported through the Aztec Academy)
  • Computer literacy skills are essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
