Role Description
The Business Development Manager is a full-time role responsible for driving growth across existing and new customer accounts. Day-to-day activities include identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with industrial clients, and promoting Aztec Oils’ product range and technical capabilities. The role involves managing the sales pipeline, preparing proposals and quotations, negotiating commercial terms, and contributing to pricing and margin strategies. The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with the sales, technical, and operations teams to ensure customer needs are understood, solutions are delivered effectively, and service levels remain high. Regular reporting on performance, market trends, and competitor activity is expected, along with participation in customer visits, industry events, and strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within industrial, manufacturing, or oil and lubricants sectors.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of B2B sales processes, pipeline management, and basic commercial analysis (pricing, margins, forecasting).
- Ability to interpret technical product information and collaborate with laboratory or technical teams to develop customer solutions.
- High level of self-motivation, organisation, and time management, with the capacity to work independently and meet targets.
- Proficiency in standard business software (e.g., CRM systems, Microsoft Office) and comfort working with data and reports.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events as required.
- Relevant education in business, engineering, chemistry, or a related field is desirable, or equivalent professional experience.
