The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day accounting and administration on a portfolio of private-equity investment funds under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist with all aspects of accounting matters, including the bookkeeping of all transactions and the preparation of quarterly reports and statutory financial statements.
- Assist with the completion of investor, client and audit queries.
- Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation evidencing transactions.
- Prepare drawdown and distribution calculations plus notices on an ad-hoc basis when requested by clients.
- Maintain accurate records on eFront and Microsoft Excel working-paper schedules for all aspects of bookkeeping.
- Prepare and input payments for routine expenses, investment transactions and distributions to investors.
- Assist and support the induction, integration and training of trainee staff.
What we’re looking for:
- The candidate will be expected to be studying towards a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Fundamental Skills level or ACA Professional level).
- Computer literacy skills are essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Sound technical financial services knowledge (to be supported through the Aztec Academy).
- Some previous experience of training or mentoring junior staff is beneficial.
We will provide the training, both in-house for relevant technical knowledge and also professional qualifications to enhance your professional development. You will need to be quick to learn new systems and great with people, as close working relationships between our colleagues and clients is at the heart of what we do.
