About the role:
As Compensation Governance & Pay Transparency Lead, you will be responsible for the leadership of a project(s), driving process improvement, operational excellence and contributing towards broader team strategies. You will achieve this through in-depth knowledge of your own discipline, being open-minded and embracing change whilst valuing diverse perspectives and channelling a 'can-do' attitude. You will support business and people growth, assisting with coaching team members, and collaborating across the business to enable Aztec's future ambitions.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Job architecture & pay structures: govern job families, bands, levels and role profiles, and own salary range design — spreads, control points and market positioning — keeping structures defensible and affordable with Finance
- Benchmarking & market data: own benchmarking and survey matching (WTW, McLagan), assuring quality and producing market insight
- Pay methodology & total reward: design pay methodology — new-hire positioning, the annual pay review and band-progression programmes — own modelling and review, and advise on the whole remuneration package, including annual and long-term incentives
- Pay transparency, gender & equal pay: deliver gender pay, equal pay and transparency readiness to the strategy set by the Head of Reward & Performance, recommending remediation with clear evidence
- Governance & insight: draft and maintain remuneration policy for approval, prepare materials for local boards and colleague forums, produce executive-quality insight and develop the Reward Analyst
Experience & Qualifications:
- Extensive specialist experience in compensation and job architecture, with expertise recognised across Aztec and working with significant independence
- Track record of complex, high-impact problem solving across multiple countries, interpreting external market and regulatory change into clear recommendations
- Extensive experience of using external surveys including WTW and McLagan
- Relevant professional qualification, with specialised knowledge of own discipline and working knowledge of related disciplines across Aztec
- Prior experience and familiarity with Workday Technical & People Skills
- Deep expertise in compensation, job architecture and reward governance
- Balances external trends, best practice and compliance with internal needs across changing markets
- Builds financial models and clear explanations for non-technical audiences
- Represents Aztec externally with survey providers and advisers, and mentors colleagues with resilience and integrity
- Makes commercial, data-driven decisions and adopts new technology to drive efficiency
