The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Manager to assist in leading our Personal Tax Compliance team. As a Top 10 firm with a diverse client base, this is a key leadership role offering significant scope for career progression.

As a Personal Tax Senior Manager, you will lead and inspire a talented team of around 30 people, driving technical excellence, ensuring the highest standards of compliance, and developing future leaders within the team. You will oversee the delivery of exceptional personal tax services to a diverse portfolio of clients, promoting efficiency, innovation, and quality across all areas of compliance.

Working closely with the Department Lead, you will contribute to strategic initiatives, process improvements, and the continued growth of our personal tax offering. Your expertise, leadership, and commercial insight will play a vital role in maintaining Azets\’ reputation for delivering trusted, high-quality, and personalised tax solutions.

Day to day duties

• Lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality personal tax compliance and advisory services across a broad client portfolio.

• Provide strategic support to department lead, contributing to business planning, client development, and departmental growth.

• Review complex tax returns and computations, ensuring accuracy, technical compliance, and adherence to risk management standards.

• Manage client relationships at a senior level, offering tailored solutions and identifying opportunities for added-value advisory work.

• Lead, coach, and inspire managers and junior team members, fostering technical excellence, collaboration, and professional growth.

• Monitor departmental performance against KPIs, budgets, and deadlines, ensuring resource efficiency and service excellence.

• Support business development through proposal writing, pricing, and participation in client pitches and networking opportunities.

• Stay at the forefront of UK personal tax developments, sharing insights and best practices across the team and wider firm.

What are we looking for?

• Professionally qualified (CTA, ATT, ACA, or equivalent) with extensive experience in personal tax compliance and advisory work.
• Proven track record in managing complex client portfolios and leading teams within a professional services environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in developing proposals, managing budgets, and identifying business opportunities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and inspire colleagues.
• Technically confident, detail-oriented, and proactive in driving innovation and continuous improvement.
• Ambitious, self-motivated, and collaborative, with a strong desire to contribute to the firm\’s strategic goals and growth.
