The role

Provide IT Field Engineer support across sites nationwide, delivering high quality services to the end user. Providing support with hardware, installing and fixing PC and support across a large range of hardware devices.

Flexibility to travel across regional locations providing cover and team support – occasional overnight stays away from home when necessary.

Key accountabilities

  • Assist with planning and execution of the Field Team role in office moves, closures, and new acquisition sites.
  • Communicating with the Field Delivery Manager and the Head of Support & Operations to ensure the future development of the team.
  • Participating in weekly/by-weekly meetings to provide an oversight of the teams progress.
  • Helping build, maintain, and contribute towards a Field Team documentation knowledge base.
  • Team management tasks including the assignment of projects, reviewing of tickets, and ensuring that SLAs are met.
  • To act as an escalation point within the Field Team and ensure that high standards are met.

Skills & Experience

  • Hardware experience, including Intel-based desktops, laptops and servers (mainly HP and Dell) and be able to provide break / fix support at component level. Experience in all versions of Windows Operating systems including Windows Server.
  • Networking experience and a strong understanding of DHCP, TCP/IP and DNS.
  • A full, clean UK driving license held for a minimum of one year.
  • An industrious and motivated approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to be customer-focused and deal with a wide range of people at various levels of technical ability.
  • Ability to independently resolve a wide variety of complex problems using your expertise and research capabilities.
  • Experience of working with third party suppliers, both on-site and off.
  • A good understanding of health and safety policy and procedures.
