The role

The

Capability Advisor plays a key role in supporting organisational change, improving performance, and strengthening business capability through effective consulting, project delivery, change interventions and learning.

Working across our UK and Ireland business units and the People function, the role partners with stakeholders to understand business capability needs and opportunities, consult on Group wide approaches and learning products and where needed support the design and delivery of practical learning solutions.

All Capability initiatives need to drive measurable business outcomes.

The role ensures initiatives are aligned to strategic capability priorities, embedded effectively, and supported by appropriate capability interventions.

Key accountabilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Consulting & Advisory
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business challenges, performance gaps, and priorities for capability change
  • Use data, insight and structured analysis to identify root causes of any issues and opportunities that have gone unrecognised then recommend practical, outcome‑focused learning solutions
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders and People teams on all aspects of the Capability COE
  • Change Management
  • Support the planning and delivery of Capability led change initiatives across UK&I, ensuring effective adoption and sustainable outcomes
  • Support leaders in driving behavioural change, the adoption of new skills and reinforcing new ways of working
  • Contribute to impact assessments, stakeholder mapping, and engagement strategies
  • Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
  • Measure the effectiveness of Capability initiatives using data and feedback, linking outcomes to business performance
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, align, and improve approaches
  • Provide evidence‑based recommendations to enhance future projects and change initiatives
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Build strong relationships with leaders, People teams, and Group functions
  • Influence and challenge constructively to ensure the right outcomes are prioritised
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Shared Services & Governance
  • Work closely with Shared Services to ensure effective implementation and governance of initiatives
  • Align activity with organisational frameworks, policies, and regulatory requirements where required

Skills & experience

Qualifications / Technical Knowledge

  • Experience in learning, leadership and talent fields.
  • A deep seated interest in digital and AI solutions and ideally good knowledge of learning management systems

Experience

  • Proven experience in a consulting, change, project, or a learning role within a complex organisation
  • Experience diagnosing business problems, spotting opportunities and translating insight into practical solutions
  • Experience supporting or delivering Group change initiatives across multiple stakeholders where influencing skills may be required.
  • Experience managing or contributing to projects with clear deliverables and timelines.

  • An ability to work successfully in ambiguous environments and find pathways through different perspectives
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of problems and spot unexplored opportunities and recommend solutions
  • Strong coordination and delivery management skills, detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines, risks, finances/budgets and stakeholders but with an outcomes focused approach
