Personal Tax Manager (PT Hub Cardiff)

A Private Client Tax Manager, you lead the delivery of personal tax services, managing client portfolios and ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations. You provide expert advice on complex tax planning, oversee teams, and develop strong client relationships. Your role ensures exceptional client service and contributes to the growth of the tax practice.

• Reviews WIP on a monthly basis to ensure that fees are raised for any work that is completed or at a billable stage and that any doubtful time that may not be recovered is adequately provided, by updating CCH with the required provision.
• Gains experience of winning new work through input into the preparation of proposals, fee quotes and attending client tenders.

Technical Skills

• Reviews complex Private Client tax returns.
• Manages a large portfolio of clients with complex needs, builds relationships with the client, and demonstrates good communication skills with the wider client team to ensure workflow is efficient and within client's expectations.

• Reviews final tax packs / transmittal letters for Private Tax clients and approves for issue to client.
• Manages a team of people, delegating appropriately, ensuring team have the required skills and exposure to work.

• Acts as line manager to members of the personal tax/trust team.

Qualifications

• Holds an accountancy and/or tax qualification or qualified by experience (e.g. ATT/CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA).

Essential Experience

• It is expected that the above core and technical skills will have been developed through study alongside work experience in an accountancy practice.
