Overview
In this role you will coordinate procurement and production planning to safeguard supply continuity in a regulated life sciences environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to align forecasts with purchasing and manufacturing needs, driving on-time delivery and optimized inventory. You will build strong supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and contribute to continuous improvements in the supply chain. This position offers impact by ensuring reliable materials for production while supporting cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine demand forecasts to support production and purchasing plans
- Source and procure raw materials, components, and indirect supplies in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements
- Ensure materials are available to meet production schedules and customer demand to achieve OTD
- Monitor stock levels and consumption to prevent stockouts and reduce excess inventory
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers for cost savings and reliable supply
- Maintain purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods
- Lead regular planning meetings to review schedules, inventory, and forecasts
- Foster supplier relationships and lead Quarterly Business Reviews with key suppliers
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain
Key requirements
- Proven experience in demand planning and purchasing in a production-driven environment (life sciences or regulated industry preferred)
- Solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes including procurement, production planning, and inventory management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence cross-functional teams
- High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a proactive, continuous improvement mindset
- Bachelor's degree in related field; APICS certification or equivalent is a plus
