The Test and Verification Engineer will work within a cross functional team on “new product development” and “research and development” projects. The successful engineer will be responsible for the system integration/development and validation of all Azenta life Science Automated Storage products. This includes:
- Integrating, configuring, and developing system solutions including automation and robotics equipment.
- Configuring hardware and software to complete various verification tests at device level including sub-assemblies.
- Carrying out tests from component level to full system life cycle tests to assess reliability and suitability.
- Serving as the primary technical interface (automation and validation specialist) within a cross-functional development team, providing support to Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Software departments.
- Supporting and validating any quality investigations.
- Working within a team or independently.
- Creating and maintaining engineering documentation of test results for analysis.
- Defining processes and test procedures.
- Providing general supervision of work with assignments requiring thorough knowledge of technical or business discipline.
- May be assigned larger projects as part of product development or continuous improvement process.
Qualifications
- Degree or technical qualification.
- Proven background in automation industry within a similar role.
- Preferably servo motion control experience; training will be provided if not.
- Logical thinking and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Willingness to learn and tackle new technologies.
- Excellent PC skills and report writing skills.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to record actions step by step to retrace steps when an issue is found.
- Eye for spotting anomalies.
- Proficient with tools, systems, and procedures required by the work.
