Azenta is searching for an electronics engineer with strong emphasis on the design and manufacturability of small instruments. The ideal candidate will be flexible to operate in a small team for full cycle product development. Working with a multi-disciplinary team based in Cambridge, UK, you will work to develop products in the life science industry. These products will include Artificial Intelligence, RFID & FPGA components and vision systems for tracking chemical and biological samples.
What You’ll Do
- Schematic capture and board layout to produce multilayer PCB boards with fine pitched components and connectors.
- Take a product concept, produce specification and implement said specification.
- Designing and producing boards from prototype to full-scale production with associated SOPs.
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary group for product design.
- Be involved with testing efforts such as EMC, RED and other related standards.
- Work in partnership with buyers, document control and manufacturing to ensure a smooth transition from design to production to customer.
- Capable of fault-finding including use of tools such as scopes, logic analyzer and other relevant instrumentation.
What You Will Bring
- BSc or MSc in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Flexibility to approach problems both within and outside core expertise.
- Knowledge of EDA tools such as KiCAD or Altium.
- Experience using Python and/or Arduino. Embedded C experience is welcome.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Tenacity to identify, resolve and overcome technical issues.
- Preferably a knowledge of Linux including kernel configuration and/or the willingness to learn.
- Preferably knowledge of circuit simulation tools.
- Preferably experience with power supplies and battery charging circuits.
- Preferably experience with small instrumentation development.
