Responsibilities

  • Analyze freight contracts (ocean, air, domestic, international) and shipping routes to assist in contract negotiations.
  • Implement freight payment services for our international locations.
  • Request freight quotes from our approved carriers; prepare and evaluate rates/proposals from a competitive standpoint.
  • Maintain contract rates and tariffs, including applicable surcharges.
  • Prepare and update rate summaries in Excel.
  • Review and evaluate freight invoices for accuracy.
  • Work with internal cross-functional teams, vendors, freight forwarders and carriers to ensure inbound and outbound shipments are booked and shipped timely, and in the most cost-efficient method, across our broad carrier base.
  • Provide internal customer support to Compliance, Supply Chain, Global Operations, and Finance, including daily tracking, expedited shipments, product freight cost analysis and invoice approval.
  • Monitor volume and spending in all logistics categories and identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Ensure General Ledger coding of freight invoices is accurate.
  • Collaborate with freight forwarders and carriers on a routine basis regarding performance issues and resolution, or to file damage claims.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with International Logistics.
  • Experience with cold chain logistics and arranging biological sample shipments.
  • Understanding of Hazmat Dangerous Goods shipping requirements.
  • Understanding of biological sample permitting preferred.
  • Experience working with Oracle Cloud.
  • Experience working with Freight Payment Centers.
  • General knowledge of transport tariffs.
  • Strong systems aptitude with a working knowledge in Global transportation carrier's and services.
  • Strong understanding of incoterms.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to analyze data and utilize findings to make improvements.
