As Quality Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all products meet our stringent quality standards. You will resolve quality issues raised within the Quality Management System, support new product introductions, and drive defect prevention initiatives. Working both independently and collaboratively, you will contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining high customer satisfaction and minimizing quality-related costs.
Responsibilities
- Manage customer raised product quality issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues efficiently, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Lead and facilitate problem-solving sessions using tools such as 8D Methodology, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, FMEA, and SPC.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Supply Chain) to enhance product quality and optimize processes.
- Monitor and update the Quality Dashboard, tracking KPIs including Defects Per Unit.
- Lead on quality control practices and Lean methodologies.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities effectively.
- Support the introduction of new products by ensuring build robustness and reliability.
- Review and approve engineering changes to maintain consistent product quality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong background in Lean principles, with a focus on process optimization and waste reduction.
- Advanced experience with the 8D Methodology.
- Knowledge of plastics/injection molding or the life sciences industry would be highly advantageous.
- Proficiency with analytical tools including Excel, Pivot Tables, and Pareto Charts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a diverse, dynamic team environment.
- Excellent data presentation and analytical skills.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools like 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagrams.
