Based onsite in Takeley, Essex or Oxford, you will play a key role in supporting our Sales Executives, Representatives, and Managers in their mission to grow and retain business. By managing strategic outreach, supporting customer engagement, and maintaining key systems, you’ll help drive sales performance across the academic and biotech sectors.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with your manager to develop and implement effective sales strategies for your assigned territory.
- Independently manage sales and marketing activities in academic and small biotech accounts.
- Organize and conduct vendor shows, lunch-and-learn sessions, and other promotional events as needed.
- Proactively generate qualified leads through outbound prospecting initiatives.
- Follow up with new customers and respond to basic incoming inquiries about pricing and products.
- Provide critical office-based support to field representatives, including accessing and interpreting data from CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and project management tools (e.g., CLIMS).
- Prepare reports to support territory and account management efforts.
- Input and manage leads and customer data within the CRM system.
- Qualify marketing leads obtained from trade shows, events, and digital campaigns.
- Work along a defined career path toward a future role in sales or marketing.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences is required.
- Related experience in life sciences, customer service, or sales is recommended.
- Strong background in Molecular Biology is highly desirable.
- Previous sales experience, particularly in scientific or technical fields, is a plus.
- Experience with CRM systems, especially Salesforce, is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential.
- Confidence and professionalism in customer interactions, including public speaking and presentations.
- While this is primarily an office-based role, occasional travel (3–5 days/month) is expected.
