Manufacturing Systems Technician – Azenta Life Sciences (UK)

We are looking for a Manufacturing Systems Technician to join Azenta Life Sciences (UK) to support the assembly of Azenta Sample Stores, BioStores, and related sub‑assemblies.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform manufacturing operations, including collaborating with engineers on setup and calibration tasks, rework, testing, and troubleshooting related to the production of parts, components, sub‑assemblies, and final system assemblies.
  • Assist with customer site installations focused on mechanical assembly of the system (project basis).
  • Use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data and conduct online adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
  • Develop methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings, or diagrams to control or modify the manufacturing process.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity.
  • Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommend solutions to technical problems.
  • Provide guidance to non‑exempt personnel and may lead or supervise activities within a team lead function.
  • Handle ad‑hoc functions required by the team.

Requirements / Skills:

  • HNC or higher education, City & Guilds level, or recognized apprenticeship.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly of basic mechanical sub‑assemblies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PC based software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience working within a Health & Safety management system.
  • Understanding of electrical systems and wiring diagrams; practical assessment may be required.
  • Proven electrical experience, ability to crimp pins, assemble cables, and fault‑find 24V/48V systems.
