Manufacturing Engineer Wotton, Surrey (own transport is required due to the rural location) Azenta Life Sciences specializes in the design and manufacture of consumables and bench top instrumentation for the life sciences industry. The business is looking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to be based at the Manufacturing site in Wotton, Surrey What You’ll Be Doing Drive improvements in processes and procedures for the manufacture, assembly or packing of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies by investigating new methods and improvements to existing methods. Create, review and update work instructions for production and assembly ensuring they are in the correct format, accurate, easy to follow and controlled through the correct systems. Lead and participate in improvement and insourcing projects. Apply problem solving tools and techniques to resolve issues identified in production and assembly processes. * Create and maintain BOM’s and work definitions. * Capture learning experiences from the shop floor activities and feed this back into the manufacturing process documentation to prevent recurrence. * Liaise with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products and updates to existing products. * Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and make recommendations for tooling, equipment and process requirements of new or existing product lines. * Support production during times of high demand or absence. Candidate requirements: Level 3 or higher qualification in Manufacturing engineering or similar disciplines. Experience with process improvements and problem solving Able to work alone or as part of small teams and larger groups to drive to root causes of issues and implement solutions in a timely manner Experience with Injection moulding or electrical assembly is beneficial
