Temporary Assignment - 3 months
The Import & Export Compliance Analyst supports global trade operations by ensuring compliant, efficient, and cost-effective movement of materials, equipment, and products across international borders. The role focuses on Import/Export documentation, regulatory compliance (globally), and coordination with internal stakeholders and external logistics partners. The Analyst plays a critical role in enabling timely delivery of shipments while safeguarding regulatory adherence. This position will report directly to the Import/Export Global Compliance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure all import and export activities adhere to relevant trade laws.
- Facilitate sanctioned party list screening processes and escalate compliance risks where necessary.
- Work in conjunction with external partners, including customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies such as BIS, CBP, and DDTC.
- Primary focus on broker interaction, approval to ship, invoice approval, and clearance instructions.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation and ensure audit readiness for all Import/Export transactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Experience in logistics and Import/Export trade compliance.
- Demonstrated experience with EU and UK trade laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with Customs regulations in the US and Asia.
- Familiarity with government PGA requirements from the government agencies.
- Knowledge of international trade documentation, INCOTERMS, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), ECCN classifications, and valuation practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Attention to detail.
- Experience in the Life Sciences industry and industry certifications (e.g., CECP, CCS) are a plus.
