We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Irlam on a permanent basis. You will be used to working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products produced meet the required quality standards. Your role is crucial in minimizing quality costs while maximizing customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will:
- Manage quality issues raised in the Quality Management System, ensuring they are resolved swiftly to prevent any impact on the customer.
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a team to implement and refine best practices focused on defect prevention.
- Manage all quality-related issues raised from the Field, the Installation Team, Service Team, and Customers.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring quality and safety standards are not compromised.
- Lead and facilitate problem-solving sessions using tools such as 8D Methodology, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, and SPC to drive continuous quality improvements.
- Identify the root cause of product quality issues and initiate permanent corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain, to enhance product quality and implement process improvements.
- Monitor and update the Quality Dashboard, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), including Defects Per Unit, to maintain high-quality standards.
- Train and mentor staff on quality control practices and Lean methodologies.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Review and approve engineering changes.
- Prepare and analyse quality reports, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Apply knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and increase overall efficiency.
- Utilise Excel, Pivot Tables, and Charts.
- Interpret engineering drawings.
Relevant manufacturing/engineering experience is required.
