We are looking for a Credit Control Support Advisor to join our team, helping customers manage their accounts and supporting the business to reduce financial risk. This is a customer-focused role, working with both internal teams and external customers to resolve queries, manage arrears and deliver excellent service.
You will work directly with customers to manage overdue payments, resolve queries and provide support particularly for those experiencing financial difficulty. You will balance a strong customer focus with clear objectives around collections, risk reduction and regulatory compliance.
The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Proactively contact customers (by phone, email and letter) to collect overdue or missed payments.
- Support customers in financial difficulty, offering appropriate solutions and guidance.
- Identify accounts at risk and take action to minimise potential losses.
- Resolve customer queries quickly to enable payment.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.
- Work closely with internal departments to resolve billing or account issues.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and customers.
- Support outsourced partners in managing arrears, debt recovery and asset recovery where required.
- Ensure all activity complies with policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit requirements.
- Keep up to date with internal processes, systems and regulatory changes.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a Credit Control, collections or customer support role.
- Experience supporting customers in financial difficulty (desirable).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to work to targets and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Customer-focused, with the ability to build trust and handle sensitive situations.
- Good level of IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
This role would be located in our Lyde Green office and would be a 12-month fixed term contract.
