Ayvens UK Risk and Compliance division acts as the organisation’s second line of defence, making sure the business operates safely, legally, and in a way that protects customers and the firm. The Financial Crime Team sits alongside the Compliance Assurance Team within the Risk and Compliance Director’s remit. The team plays an intrinsic part in Ayvens internal control and compliance framework. The role of the Financial Crime Team is to manage the risk of financial crime within the business (including the risk of bribery and corruption) and to ensure that Ayvens maintains compliance with its responsibilities under anti-money laundering legislation. The team reports to the Financial Crime Manager / Deputy MLRO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anti-Money Laundering
- Create and deliver additional training as and when provided.
- Provide guidance in a timely manner on the treatment of customers where AML/CTF or Financial Crime concerns have been raised, both at onboarding and in-life.
- Support with the reviewing, and the filing of Suspicious Activity Reports as required. Also ensuring that all reported customers are regularly reviewed and that the SAR register is kept up to date.
- Support AML/CTF risk assessments of Ayvens UK business.
- Review potential and existing high-risk relationships and transactions and keep relevant registers (including but not limited to Run-Off Customer register, PEP Register) up to date.
- Ensure applicants are reviewed against fraud, PEP and Sanctions databases and watchlists in line with Société Générale rules.
- Fraud
- Maintain relationships with industry bodies and fraud prevention agencies to ensure that fraud prevention agency rules, guidance and reporting requirements are adhered to.
- Analyse fraud data and prepare reports as required including but not limited to monthly management information pack and Committee reporting.
- Conduct investigations into fraudulent activity, including root cause analysis and examination of suspected fraudulent documentation.
- Anti Bribery and Corruption
- Support ABC Risk Assessments and activities.
- Carry out regular monitoring of ABC activities including but not limited to GEMs and COI declarations to ensure policy adherence and best practice throughout the business.
- General
- Identify deficiencies in policies, procedures, systems or controls relating to AML/CTF and Financial Crime and help implement remedial actions to address deficiencies and ensure that these are effectively communicated to all relevant staff.
- Actively develop, coach and mentor colleagues to ensure they meet their full potential in line with agreed business strategy.
- Ensure data is accurate and maintained on all relevant systems, registers and logs.
Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge and experience of AML including an understanding of the relevant FCA Financial Crime rules and guidance, the UK Money Laundering Regulations and JMLSG guidance.
- A basic understanding of the breadth of laws and regulations imposed on regulated firms to defend against financial crime.
- Good IT literacy for all MS office products.
- Able to support the production of reports and MI to a high standard.
