Ensuring the business lends responsibly and within appetite across all channels, the Credit Risk Department is accountable for recommending, implementing and monitoring strategies, policies and models used to quantify and manage credit risk. As a result of growth, we’re currently seeking an additional Credit Policy Analyst to join our Bristol based team.

Purpose

  • Ensure the business operates within the defined credit risk strategy, policies and risk appetite.
  • Support the development and performance of controls around credit risk decisioning, monitoring and operational processes.
  • Define, maintain and continuously improve the framework and governance structure for credit risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the ongoing monitoring of credit risk policy and processes, and the continuous improvement of the credit risk management framework.
  • Develop, perform and continuously improve key controls assessing the application of critical policies, processes and guidance, regulatory requirements and Ayvens Group standards, and support the delivery of credit risk supervisory controls provided by Ayvens Group.
  • Deliver detailed case-level quality assurance of underwriting assessments whilst applying expertise to provide feedback for Risk Operations.
  • Support the Portfolio team in the ongoing optimisation of credit risk strategies, policies and processes.
  • Support the co-ordination and monitoring of action plans following the local identification of risks, control feedback or audit or regulatory recommendations.

Skills, Experience & Background

  • Experience in an underwriting role within both B2C and B2B lending preferable.
  • An analytical, detail-orientated and inquisitive mind-set, focussed on pragmatically solving real-world problems, and demonstrated with experience in a previous analytical role.
  • Refined communication skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to tailor this to simplify complex topics for a broad audience.
  • Driven to continually develop professional knowledge and skills, and adept at researching and applying new techniques or technologies.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity and honesty in all work activities. Demonstrates resilience when faced with challenging situations. Able to empathise whilst remaining impartial.

Technical Capabilities:

  • Proficient with tools and technologies critical within credit risk management, such as systems used for onboarding, lending strategy management, underwriting and risk monitoring.
  • High standard in IT literacy including office applications.
