Supporting the Data Compliance & Governance Lead, you as the successful applicant will be key to developing and supporting the frameworks aimed at fostering a culture of data trust across Ayvens in the UK. You will act as a single point of contact for the compliance and governance control assuming oversight of activities and coordination. As such you will be adept at nurturing stakeholder relationships to ensure continuous improvement data compliance and adherence to the data governance roadmap.

Key Accountabilities
  • Support the delivery of the Data Management policy, Data Retention policy (and others that are deemed in the remit of data) and the associated frameworks; its translation, implementation and continuous improvement in the UK. And all other associated LOD1 activities.
  • Implement, promote and champion a comprehensive data management roadmap including the defining, oversight and enforcement of data policies, procedure and standards.
  • Liaise with, educate and positively influence stakeholders on the implementation of good data practices including driving the adoption of fully accountable data trustees throughout the business.
  • The creation and evolution of the Data Info Hub and lead the continuous improvements of our governance and compliance capabilities.
  • Specialist of root cause analysis of data definitions and data quality issues.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of the definitions of the technical components, interrelationships and principles governing the creation, exploitation and management of Ayvens data assets in collaboration with Architecture and Database and Application teams.
  • Create exceptional collaboration with teams within the Data team, wider organisation and group entities.
  • Ensure appropriate capture of the data lineage and the recording of the CRUD principles.
  • Be a mentor and support for non-senior resources within the team.

Skills, Experience & Background
  • Technical Capabilities:
  • Problem Solving: Able to step into unfamiliar projects to assist with complex issues. Defines and ensures standards to evolve data reliability.
  • Overview: Excellent knowledge of the end-to-end development lifecycle of data solutions and the compliance and governance that should be implemented and reviewed through the lifecycle.
  • Quality: Creates mechanisms which measure and ensure quality standards are followed and seeks to evolve standards to fill gaps and challenge low-value elements.
  • Security: Initiates and oversees application of secure design principles within departmental processes.
  • Incremental Value Delivery: Understands the problem statement and aids the creation of an appropriate data solution, manages cross-team dependencies and fosters a culture of controlled urgency.
Desired Previous Experience:
  • Strong SQL or other RDBMS querying language skills.
  • Experience in establishing governance frameworks supporting BCBS239 principles.
  • Extensive experience using and configuring cataloguing tools, such as Collibra.
  • Aware of the tools and approaches in MDM and metadata capture.
  • Extensive experience with RDBMS, datalakes and datahouses.
  • Experience of monitoring and reporting against agreed SLAs, KPIs and delivering BAU objectives.
  • Demonstrable experience in being able to prioritise multiple deliverables of varying commitments.
  • Experience of working in the financial services industry and knowledge of data related to regulatory requirements for the financial service sector.
Technical Ability:
  • Multiple years of relevant professional experience specifically dealing with data management, data governance, and data compliance topics.
IT Applications:
  • Working knowledge of the Azure data platform. Fleetware and/or Miles database knowledge is desired.
