Part-time GP Administrator Vacancy (20 hours per week) £13.35/hr
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking, reliable and motivated person to join our friendly Admin Team at the Girvan Riverside Medical Practice, based in the Girvan Community Hospital, GIRVAN KA26 9HQ.
Our Practice Clinical Team consists of 3 GP Partners, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses, and an attached Community Treatment and Care Nursing Team consisting of 1 Nurse and 1 Health Care Support Worker. In our Admin Team we have a Practice Manager, an Assistant Practice Manager, 2 Secretarial Administrators and 3 Administrators.
Applicants must have excellent organisational and communication skills and be computer proficient. Previous administrative experience in a Medical Practice or similar role with knowledge of EMIS and Docman is preferred, but is not essential as full training will be given to the successful applicant. Your ability to work in a Team, but also use your own initiative, work under pressure, and be flexible is essential.
The post is for 20 hours per week, worked over Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 9.00am and 1.00pm. The successful applicant must be flexible and available to cover holidays, sick leave and occasional overtime.
This role involves supporting the Practice Management and Admin Team with delivering their day-to-day administrative duties within the practice to ensure the smooth operation of services.

- Clinical Coding
- Enter Surgery Rotas onto EMIS
- Participate in Management Driven Audit
- Administrative duties – including Reception Desk and Prescription Line Cover
We are looking for someone who is:
- The experience in working in an administrative or healthcare environment (preferred)
- Use of GP clinical systems (e.g. EMIS, Docman) (preferred)
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Able to prioritise and manage a varied workload
- A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
