Eglinton Family Practice is seeking a medical receptionist/administrator to join our team on a permanent full-time basis for 37 hours per week over 5 days. Part-time and job share alternatives may be considered to cover the full-time hours per week. Salary will be in the region of £13.24 per hour to £13.65 per hour.

We are a friendly, 6 partner, GP training practice in Irvine with approximately 6,700 patients. We are looking for a well-organised, forward-thinking and highly motivated individual to expand our well-established admin team.

The main function of this role will be to aid the smooth running of the reception and duties will include:

  • Dealing with patients at reception and by telephone
  • Processing prescriptions and mail
  • Booking appointments
  • Signposting to appropriate services
  • Other administrative duties following in-house training

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, as part of a busy team. Previous experience of working within primary care is preferred, with experience of using EMIS and DOCMAN clinical systems being advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided.
