An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly team. The practice is based in the modern, purpose-built Community Hospital in the coastal town of Girvan. Our team consists of 3 GP Partners, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 ANP and 7 administration staff serving a Practice population of around 4459 patients. The Practice is well supported by our CTAC Team consisting of 1 Nurse and 1 Health Care Support Worker. We also have our wider Multi-Disciplinary Team which comprises District Nursing Services, a General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Team, an Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner, a Mental Health Practitioner, a Community Links Worker, an Occupational Therapist and a Community Phlebotomy Service. The Practice uses EMIS and Docman software.

Applicants must hold a qualification in Adult Nursing, have a current NMC Registration and preferably have completed NES General Practice Nurse Training, but this is not essential. Ideally they will have experience in Chronic Disease Management, Cervical Screening, Spirometry and General Treatment Room duties such as Phlebotomy, Wound Care, Stock Rotation/Management, and either have experience or be working towards qualifications in Diabetes, Asthma and COPD.

Experience within General Practice is preferred, however not essential, as training will be provided to the right candidate who shows a willingness to work towards personal and professional development. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are essential for this role as they will be working as an autonomous practitioner within the Practice Team.

This post is for 22.5 hours per week worked over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to suit room availability. Salary follows the Agenda for Change Banding and will be offered in relation to experience.
