Join to apply for the Staff Nurse - Ward 3C Renal role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran. This is a fixed-term post of 12 months. Applicants must have a live pin with the NMC UK. The shift pattern is rotational, covering 7 days a week.

We are offering an exciting opportunity in Ward 3C Renal for 2 full-time Band 5 Staff Nurses on a one-year secondment. Ward 3C Renal is a 10-bed inpatient ward caring for children with renal, urology, and rheumatology conditions, with an attached 4-bed haemodialysis unit. It is the National Unit for Scotland, providing haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and renal transplants for pediatric patients. This role offers experience in complex renal care, including medications and transplants. The ward operates on 12.5-hour day and night shifts, including weekends.

Applicants must be Registered Paediatric Nurses with an active NMC pin.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Assess care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate care programs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and team members to ensure patient needs are met.

Essential requirements include current NMC registration, evidence of professional development, basic IT skills, good communication skills, and enthusiasm for renal nursing. Pre-employment checks include evidence of current NMC registration and PVG scheme membership/disclosure Scotland check.
