A loving family in Troon is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Personal Assistant (PA) to support their young daughter, Elise, who was born with Down Syndrome. Elise is a sociable and happy individual who attends a mainstream school with one-to-one support. She is gaining independence and enjoys engaging activities that match her interests and abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate fun, engaging activities that Elise will enjoy.
- Provide attentive and supportive care during the agreed hours.
- Always ensure Elise’s safety and comfort.
- Communicate effectively with the family to understand Elise’s needs and preferences.
Requirements
- Friendly, patient, and understanding demeanour.
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs, is desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to fostering Elise’s independence and happiness.
- Reliability and flexibility to meet the family’s schedule.
Additional Information
The role offers a rewarding opportunity to build a positive relationship with Elise and provide meaningful support for a family committed to ensuring all their children thrive. Post subject to successful reference and PVG checks. Two up to date Reference contacts are required, one of which must be from a present or previous employer. In addition, a new PVG enhanced disclosure will be required prior to appointment (disclosure cost to be met by the employer). There is a 6 month trial period attached to this post.
