Personal Employer Cumnock Support Worker / Buddy (P/T) Location: Cumnock.
Overview
Applicants must be flexible as hours of work/shifts will vary each week. Availability to do overnights during weekdays and weekends is required. The regular weekly hours will be a small amount required, roughly 4 hours per week. Rate of pay: £13.45 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Provide social support and companionship within the local community, ensuring the young man's safety at all times.
- Offer patience and support to allow him to communicate his needs and feelings clearly due to his limited communication skills.
- Maintain continuity and consistency to meet his needs.
- Encourage and facilitate activities such as walks on nice days and use of the pool in the garden.
- Administer medication when required and manage seizures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience supporting young adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and managing associated seizures.
- Ability to recognize anxieties and associated behaviours.
- Valid driver’s licence with own car and full clean licence; business insurance required.
- Will be paid mileage allowance for using own car.
Probationary Period
Position subject to a 6-month probationary period.
References and Disclosure
Successful applicants must provide two references, one of which must be the current or most recent employer. Applicants will undergo a new PVG disclosure at the employer's cost.
