Location: Ayr

Posts: 2 (16 hours each)

Hours: Variable – to be discussed at interview

Pay: £12.60 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Provide day support, personal care and various health activities to promote wellbeing.
  • Assist with basic admin tasks such as diary planning and daily/monthly reporting.
  • Manage social support activities, including attending the local swimming pool, football games, walks, cinema and other social events (must be a good swimmer).
  • Handle household tasks such as preparing breakfast, lunch and evening meals; making hot drinks and snacks; light cleaning and washing dishes.
  • Assist with shopping and general errands such as visiting local shops.
  • Support mobility as required, assisting with wheelchair manoeuvring.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the employer’s privacy.

Requirements

  • Genuine passion for providing excellent care and support, professionalism and commitment.
  • Good swimming ability and comfort in water.
  • Previous caring experience advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Preferred: possess own vehicle and drivers with a current clean driver’s licence.
  • Must be local (some late finishing times).
  • Will provide two up-to-date reference contacts.
  • Must undergo a new or updated Protection of Vulnerable Groups Disclosure.

Additional Details

  • There is 5.6 weeks A/L per annum attached to the post inclusive of public holidays.
  • Shift patterns will vary week to week in line with the employer’s needs.
  • Staff may be required to cover for other staff on leave or sick.
  • The rota and job description may change in the future according to support needs.
  • There is a 6 month probationary period with a 1 week notice within this time, if the post is not working out.
