This post is to work with a sociable lady who has Down Syndrome. The post is currently flexible with hours to be agreed with the employer. Training on what is required will be given by the employer. The person can get around by herself but may need a little help getting in and out of vehicles. The person is seeking an experienced Support Worker to be with her.

The person enjoys traveling, office work, socialising with friends, swimming, aqua aerobics, taking part in gym activities and 10 pin bowling. She also enjoys eating out, listening to music and going to the cinema. You will be required to support her to access and participate in these activities.

You will need a minimum of 6 months’ care experience, be attentive, organised and be able to manage your own workload. A full driving licence would be an advantage.

Post subject to successful reference and PVG checks. Two up to date reference contacts are required; one of which must be from a present or previous employer. In addition, a new PVG enhanced disclosure will be required prior to appointment (disclosure cost to be met by the employer).

Probationary Period: Probationary period attached 6 months to this post. During this period, either party can end the employment by giving the other one weeks’ notice.
