6hrs Post, £14.59 Per Hour. Driver Essential. This post is a permanent, part-time position. You will be required to apply for the PVG process with Disclosure Scotland. You must pay for this and once completed you will be reimbursed the cost in your first pay. If you leave your post within 6 months you will be required to pay the cost of the PVG back to the employer.
This upbeat and personable young man requires some support to access his local community and to tap into his own hobbies and interests he enjoys. He loves chatting and being seen as part of his local community. The young man would welcome someone who can support and encourage him to engage with activities in his local surroundings and, at times, a little further afield.
The young man sits on the spectrum and can at times become anxious. As his personal assistant, the worker should have experience of reducing anxiety and supporting the young man to reason. The main interests of the young man are walking at good pace, going for a cuppa, attending the gym, swimming, playing pool, bowling, and music. He has access to a local community rock choir.
Support and encouragement are needed along with patience, to recognise when the young man is anxious. Experience in reducing anxiety would be advantageous. A personal assistant should have a good level of energy to support on walks and be able to ease anxieties if they arise. You will require some level of flexibility in this role and be able to accommodate change that may happen from time to time.
