We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to provide support to a young woman who is blind and has additional learning and mobility support needs. The ideal candidate will be friendly, welcoming and able to build a trusting relationship with a quiet individual who is cautious when meeting new people.
The Support Worker will assist and encourage her with her hobbies and interests, and provide general assistance with day-to-day activities within and outside her home environment. A flexible, adaptable and responsive approach is required to ensure her needs are met and that any problems or environmental risks are sensitively managed.
The young woman enjoys animals, audiobooks, films and music, and spends time writing stories on her computer, baking and cooking. She would like assistance in formatting and editing her stories, and help researching new recipes that can be tried and tested together. Skills and interest in these areas are important.
