Overview
SUPPORT WORKER REQUIRED IN SALTCOATS AREA. 6 HRS PER WEEK. Independent employer in North Ayrshire. 6 hours per week, £13.73 per hour. Driver essential. This post is a permanent, part-time position. You will be required to apply for the PVG process with Disclosure Scotland. You must pay for this and, once completed, you will be reimbursed in your first pay. If you leave your post within 6 months you will be required to repay the PVG cost to the employer.
Responsibilities
- Support and engage a young man to access his local community and enjoy his hobbies and interests.
- Encourage participation in activities in his local surroundings and, at times, further afield.
- Assist as a personal assistant to help manage anxiety and support him to engage and reason.
- Support activities such as walking at a good pace, going for a cuppa, gym sessions, swimming, playing pool and bowling, and participation in a local community rock choir.
- Provide energy, patience, and encouragement to recognise when the young man is anxious and help mitigate anxiety.
- Be flexible to accommodate changes and support on walks and during activities as needed.
Qualifications/Experience
- Experience in reducing anxiety and supporting individuals; ability to support the young man in engaging with activities.
- Good energy level to support walks and help ease anxieties as they arise.
- Flexibility to accommodate changes in the role.
- Essential: Driver.
