Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
Hours: 16hrs per week, with extra shifts available for annual leave, sickness and sleepovers.
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Care Assistant / Support Worker to assist a gentleman who lives in his own apartment. The gentleman is 49 years old and has multiple sclerosis (MS). He requires assistance with all aspects of his daily care needs. The primary role involves supporting him with all routines, including personal care needs and social support, and continence care. This is a double‑handling role; you will work alongside another carer specifically around transfers using a tracking hoist. Experience in care would be an advantage, but training will be provided. The client has a suprapubic catheter and is PEG fed; training for these will also be provided. Light housework duties are required. He has his own adapted car for wheelchair use, which will be used for social activities and appointments, so a clean driving licence is an advantage.
Shift Times:
- 8am – 2pm
- 2pm – 8pm
- 9am – 10am
- 7pm – 8pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care
- Night‑time routines
- Assist with medication
- Provide assistance with mobility and transfers (double handling)
- Encourage and support independence where possible
- Catheter care experience preferred; training can be provided
- Experience of PEG feeding preferred; training can be provided
Requirements:
- Previous experience essential unless otherwise stated
- Kind, patient and empathetic nature
- Ability to work as part of a team
- PVG scheme update required; two references from last employer (costs covered by employer)
