The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 £ per hour.

2 Support Workers Required For a New Service Starting (DRIVER ESSENTIAL DUE TO RURAL LOCATION).

Work 15 hours per role with flexibility. Six‑month probationary period. Reference: 00/Mauchline/WL. Employment is fully contracted; hours will be discussed at interview.

Personnel will be required to complete a Disclosure Scotland application before starting.

Two references and a PVG check are mandatory; the PVG fee will be refunded by the employer.

Pay is issued four‑weekly, directly to a bank account.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care (showering, dressing, washing) and support with wheelchair and hoist use for a young man with additional support needs.
  • Assist with light food preparation, meal prompting, and ensure regular hydration.
  • Support the individual when attending college once a week and facilitate social interaction.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy home environment, removing hazards and ensuring hygiene.
  • Use a mobility vehicle for local trips (town, cinema, etc.) while complying with motability and insurance restrictions.
  • Offer encouragement to promote choice and freedom in daily activities, and support independence.
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of the new support service.

Qualifications

  • Experience caring for adults with additional support needs, including wheelchair or hoist use.
  • Driving licence and willingness to use a scheduled vehicle (motability restrictions noted).
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, patient attitude.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including potential weekend or evening hours.
