Location: Largs, North Ayrshire.
Shift: 24/7 support, including sleepover hours (8 hours per night) and additional 2:1 hours for activities.
Job Purpose: Encourage, reassure and help the client to take pride in themselves and their surroundings. Support socially and emotionally while promoting well-being and the ability to live a happy, healthy and enjoyable life.
Responsibilities:
- Support the client’s independent and fulfilling life and assist participation in activities that are important to them.
- Assist with domestic chores: washing, ironing, keeping home and car clean and tidy.
- Assist with personal care routine and medication administration.
- Drive the client’s car – requires a full UK manual driving licence.
- Budget finances for weekly shopping and outings.
- Support meal preparation and encourage a healthy, well-balanced diet.
Essential Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (manual).
- Strong, clear verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism, high standards and strong values.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Patience, empathy and ability to adapt to change and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in support for people with learning disabilities and autism is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: £14.59 per hour for day hours; £13.46 per hour for sleepover rate.
- Annual leave: 5.6 weeks annual leave and AIL entitlement pro-rata.
- Probationary period: 6 months, with a 1-week notice if the post does not work out.
- PVG Disclosure scheme update required before appointment.
- Supply two reference contacts.
