Part Time Support Worker – Kilwinning, North Ayrshire
Job Details
- Hours: 5 hours per week (or 20 hours over 4 weeks) across two days, flexible on days.
- Rate of Pay: £13.73 per hour.
- Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata).
- Location: Kilwinning.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and friendly personal assistant to support a lady who is a power wheelchair user. The role involves assistance with everyday tasks to promote independence and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Light housework, including tidying and cleaning
- Changing bedding
- Assistance with shopping
- Supporting with general day-to-day tasks
- Helping care for and being comfortable around a large, old, friendly Labrador cross dog
- Driving to appointments or shops as required
Requirements
- Must be a driver with access to a car
- Comfortable around large dogs
- Willing to undertake training in moving and handling
- Reliable, friendly, and respectful of privacy and dignity
- Able to work daytime hours (flexible schedule by agreement)
Additional Information
Full training will be provided. Employer is flexible regarding how hours are scheduled (e.g., spread across the month). This is a rewarding role supporting someone to maintain independence at home.

Other Details
This position is subject to a 6-month probationary period. Within this time one week’s notice from either side terminates the contract. Successful applicants must provide two references (one of which must be from your most recent employer) and undergo a PVG disclosure at the employer’s cost.
