One position available for a young gentleman in Kilmaurs. Hours are flexible, ranging from 10 to 18 hours per week. Available shifts include early mornings (7:00‑9:15 AM, some full days 7:00‑4:30 PM), evenings (6:00‑8:00 PM), and Saturday daytime.

Benefits

Job Purpose

Support a young man with Down’s syndrome, autism, sensory challenges, learning disabilities, developmental delays, and chronic reflux disease.

Experience & Requirements

  • Experience supporting individuals with Down’s syndrome and autism (advantageous).
  • Experience supporting people with communication difficulties and sensory challenges.
  • Knowledge of Makaton sign language is advantageous.
  • Suitable for adult education/early years training to support literacy and numeracy development.
  • Must be a fit, energetic male with patience, kindness, firm‑yet‑gentle approach.
  • Must be able to swim, have a driver's licence, own a car, and speak clearly, calmly, slowly.

The Job

  • Assist with morning routines: washing, dressing, breakfast, medication, dishes, personal grooming.
  • Support travel to day‑to‑day activities such as ten‑pin bowling, gym, swimming, all‑ability bike riding.
  • Assist with work experience placement.
  • Attend evening social groups and weekend social support.
  • Support at home after day for washing, tidying, packing lunch, dishwashing.
  • Ensure safety and well‑being at all times.

Hours

  • Monday: 7:00‑9:00 AM
  • Tuesday: 7:00‑9:00 AM or 9:00‑4:30 PM
  • Wednesday‑Friday: 7:00‑9:15 AM
  • Alternate Saturdays: 10:00‑1:00 PM or 11:00‑2:00 PM
  • Friday evenings: 6:15‑8:15 PM
