Responsibilities

  • Social support
  • Assist in attending the local swimming pool (good swimming skills required)
  • Assist in attending other social events such as clubbing, walks, etc.
  • Household tasks
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch and evening meals (including feeding assistance)
  • Make hot drinks
  • Clean the fridge, rotate food and check food dates
  • Clean and dust all rooms (kitchen, bathroom, shower, bedroom, lounge, hallway, stairs)
  • Do laundry and ironing
  • Change bedding
  • Clean internal windows (once a month)
  • General tasks
  • Assist with local shopping
  • Attend appointments
  • Perform light household maintenance (e. g., change a light bulb, use ladders)
  • Report repairs or maintenance to Housing Authority or other relevant authorities
  • Light gardening (cutting grass)
  • Pet care
  • Feed the employer’s cat and clean its litter tray (gloves provided)

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a caring role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Good swimming ability required.
  • Good team‑working skills and professionalism.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.
  • Drivers with own car and clean driver’s licence preferred (business insurance not essential).
  • Willingness to undergo Protection of Vulnerable Groups Disclosure and provide two up‑to‑date reference contacts.
  • Willingness to undertake moving and assisting certificate qualification if not already held.
  • Probation & Notice
  • 6‑month probationary period.
  • One‑week notice required during probation if the role is not working out.
