Female Personal Assistant / Driver Required
Location: Ayr
Hours: 48 hours per month, 1 weekday shift per week, 2 Sundays per month
Rate of Pay: £13.45 per hour
We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Female Personal Assistant/Driver to support a young girl with additional support needs in her local community. The young girl is non-verbal and enjoys a variety of activities including listening to music (especially ABBA), going for walks, watching videos, going out for lunch, and attending clubs and social activities.
Duties will include:
- Providing support to access community activities and social opportunities
- Driving and accompanying her to clubs, appointments and outings
- Assisting with eating and drinking
- Supporting with toileting and personal care
- Providing reassurance, encouragement and companionship
- Ensuring her safety and wellbeing at all times
Essential requirements:
- Female applicant (Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to personal care needs)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle
- Reliable, patient and compassionate approach
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and follow support plans
Training:
Full training will be provided, including Moving and Assisting training and any other training required to support the young girl’s needs.
We are looking for someone who:
- Enjoys supporting people to live fulfilling lives
- Is caring, dependable and motivated
- Can build a positive and trusting relationship over time
- Has a genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs
Experience is welcomed but not essential, as the right attitude and willingness to learn are most important.
There is a 6 month probationary period attached to this post, as well as the successful applicant requiring to undergo a new or updating of their PVG disclosure, paid by the employer, as well as providing 2 up to date references contacts.
