Location: Ayr

Hours: 48 hours per month – 1 weekday shift per week, 2 Sundays per month.

Rate of Pay: £13.45 per hour.

We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Female Personal Assistant/Driver to support a young girl with additional support needs in her local community. The young girl is non-verbal and enjoys a variety of activities including listening to music (especially ABBA), going for walks, watching videos, going out for lunch, and attending clubs and social activities.

Duties

  • Providing support to access community activities and social opportunities
  • Driving and accompanying her to clubs, appointments, and outings
  • Assisting with eating and drinking
  • Supporting with toileting and personal care
  • Providing reassurance, encouragement, and companionship
  • Ensuring her safety and wellbeing at all times

Essential Requirements

  • Female applicant (Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to personal care needs)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle
  • Reliable, patient, and compassionate approach
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow support plans

Training

Full training will be provided, including Moving and Assisting training and any other training required to support the young girl’s needs.

Experience is welcomed but not essential, as the right attitude and willingness to learn are most important. There is a 6‑month probationary period attached to this post. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a new or updating of their PVG disclosure, paid by the employer, and to provide two up‑to‑date reference contacts.
