Support Worker / Driver positions available. Working rota over a 4‑week period consisting of 3 24‑hour shifts per 4‑week period (including sleep‑overs) and an additional 4 24‑hour shifts per 4‑week period. Will be required to cover staff holidays and sickness.
Rate of Pay: £13.45 per hour for all hours worked. Wages are paid 4‑weekly in arrears by BACS transfer.
Qualifications:
- Clean driving licence essential (category A).
- Full driving licence required.
- Ability to drive the support worker’s own vehicle.
- Previous experience or training in supporting young adults with additional support needs is desirable but not essential.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the young man (28 years old) with personal care: medication reminders and records, showering, toileting, eating, and dressing.
- Assist with personal appearance: shaving, oral hygiene, foot care, hair styling.
- Household tasks: cooking and preparing meals (including liquidising food and avoiding allergens), cleaning kitchen and living areas, mopping, dusting, hoovering, laundry, ironing, changing bedding, and maintaining household facilities.
- General tasks: shop assistance, reporting equipment faults, light household maintenance such as changing light bulbs.
- Social activities/outings: accompany the young man to cinema, theatre, swimming, club events, appointments, shopping, walks, and leisure activities.
- Drive the young man to appointments, outings, holidays, and other necessary trips.
Other Conditions:
- Vacancy includes 5.6 weeks paid annual leave.
- 6‑month probationary period with 1‑week notice during probation.
- Successful candidates will undergo a New PVG Disclosure (or update). The employer will cover the fee; the fee may be recouped if the employment ends within the probationary period.
- Reference checks: two up‑to‑date references, one from a recent or current employer.
