Duties
- Provide support and companionship to a young man with a diagnosis of Autism who lives with his family in the Kilwinning area. Confidentiality is of utmost importance.
- Ensure his safety at all times, supervising him in the community.
- Support in accessing the local community, including going to the Gym.
- Assist with swimming pool visits (you must be comfortable assisting).
- Encourage and accompany him to football games and stadium tours.
- Encourage musical and theatrical pursuits, including attendance at Centre Stage in Kilmarnock.
- Flexibility for longer shifts for travel to further afield outings.
- Minimal personal care – prompt him to get dressed properly after swimming etc.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young adults with Autism is essential.
- Preferred: driver with current driver’s licence, own car and business insurance.
- Ability to be physically fit and respond quickly to the client’s needs.
Additional Requirements
- Must undergo a new PVG Disclosure, to be paid by the employer.
- Supply two reference contacts prior to appointment.
Working Conditions
- Six‑month probationary period with one week’s notice within that time if the role does not work out.
- Mileage costs will be covered for traveling any distance for work related purposes.
- Travel allowance is included in the wage rate.
