The predicted salary is between 14 - 15 £ per hour.

Hours: 6 hrs per week. Days / Hours: (Proposed shifts: 10am – 1pm or 1.30pm – 4.30pm). Days flexible – to be discussed at interview.

Pay: £14.56 per hour.

Duties

  • Provide support and companionship to a young man with a diagnosis of Autism who lives with his family in the Kilwinning area. Confidentiality is of utmost importance.
  • Ensure his safety at all times, supervising him in the community.
  • Support in accessing the local community, including going to the Gym.
  • Assist with swimming pool visits (you must be comfortable assisting).
  • Encourage and accompany him to football games and stadium tours.
  • Encourage musical and theatrical pursuits, including attendance at Centre Stage in Kilmarnock.
  • Flexibility for longer shifts for travel to further afield outings.
  • Minimal personal care – prompt him to get dressed properly after swimming etc.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young adults with Autism is essential.
  • Preferred: driver with current driver’s licence, own car and business insurance.
  • Ability to be physically fit and respond quickly to the client’s needs.

Additional Requirements

  • Must undergo a new PVG Disclosure, to be paid by the employer.
  • Supply two reference contacts prior to appointment.

Working Conditions

  • Six‑month probationary period with one week’s notice within that time if the role does not work out.
  • Mileage costs will be covered for traveling any distance for work related purposes.
  • Travel allowance is included in the wage rate.
