Part‑time Personal Assistant / Companion (Female required). 9–12 hours per week, earliest start 9:30 am, latest finish 8 pm. Hours to be discussed at interview. Location: own accommodation in the Dreghorn area. Hourly rate: £13.45 – £14.59, with travel allowance and mileage costs covered for work‑related travel.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance including hair washing, showering, continence care, dressing, breakfast preparation, medication prompting.
- Complete essential hygiene and housework tasks such as clearing dishes, laundry, bed making.
- Prepare food and batch‑cook as required.
- Assist with shopping tasks, putting away grocery deliveries, and attending appointments.
- Support the client in accessing the wider community: clubs, events, cinema, bowling, meals, etc.
- Assist with taking a small pet dog to groomers or vets if necessary.
- Act as a confidant and advocate, speaking up on behalf when appropriate while respecting the client’s independence.
Qualifications:
- Female applicant, friendly, cheery, easy‑going, sociable, genuine interest in supporting independence.
- Experience with animals – the client has a small pet dog.
- Understanding of multiple sclerosis and experience working with clients with physical disabilities preferred.
- Valid driver’s licence, own car, and business insurance preferred.
- Must undergo a new PVG disclosure at employer’s expense and provide two reference contacts before appointment.
Conditions:
- Six‑month probationary period.
- One week’s notice required during probation if the role does not work out.
