The predicted salary is between 13 - 13 £ per hour.
We are looking for 2 part‑time Female Personal Assistant support workers/Drivers to support a lady with multiple sclerosis in Ochiltree. Each worker will provide up to 10 hours per week, with shifts of 3 hours each. The rotation is: week 1 – 3 days, week 2 – 4 days, with one weekend on and one weekend off.
Salary: Living wage rate – £13.45 per hour.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide flexible support and companionship as directed by the lady and her husband.
- Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and daily activities.
- Transport the lady in her wheelchair‑adapted vehicle and help with wheelchair handling.
- Participate in recreational activities such as walks, drives, and outings with her Labrador dogs.
- Cover other staff annual leave as required.
Training:
- Learn to push the wheelchair and load/unload it into the family vehicle.
- Receive training in wheelchair handling and safe transport from the family.
Person Specification:
- Attributes: Demonstrable experience of supporting people to fulfil their potential and live active lives.
- Knowledge & Skills: Full clean UK driving licence, manual transmission required. Good interpersonal and communication skills, including listening. Strong organisational abilities. Understanding of person‑centred practice and empowerment.
- Must Have: Working knowledge of good person‑centred practice. Ability to assist with wheelchair transport and manual chair handling.
- Experience: Experience supporting someone as a peer or in a similar role. Ability to engage effectively and work in partnership with others.
- Personal Qualities: Good sense of humour, down to earth, enjoys light banter. Good listener. Dog friendly – family owns two Labradors. Physically fit, able to lift and transport the wheelchair.

Other Details:
- Probationary period: 6 months.
- Annual leave: 5.6 weeks pro rata.
- PVG and references will be required.
